A timber and brick house on the edge of the forest, set between rocks so not a single tree had to be cut.
The brief
A weekend house that could become a family home, on a plot full of rocks and old oaks.
Our approach
We surveyed every tree and rock, then threaded the house between them. Brick for the base, timber above, and a roof that collects rainwater for the garden.
The result
Three bedrooms, a library with a forest view and a house the family moved into full time in 2022.
“We thought we were buying a weekend house. Now we never leave.”The Demir family
