A 1890s warehouse turned into eleven lofts, keeping the stone vaults and adding a sculpted concrete stair at its heart.
The brief
Eleven homes inside a listed building, without losing what made it special.
Our approach
We worked with the heritage board for a year to agree what to keep. The vaults, iron columns and stone walls stay; everything new is concrete or oak, so old and new are easy to tell apart.
The result
Eleven lofts from 70 to 190 m², a shared roof terrace and a restored ground floor that now houses a bookshop.
