Acceptable Use Policy
This policy applies to every website we build and host, and to your use of your altoda account. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
You may not use altoda for
- Anything illegal in the United Arab Emirates or in the country where your business operates or your visitors are.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, including images or text you do not have permission to use.
- Adult or sexually explicit content, or services of a sexual nature.
- Gambling, betting or lottery services.
- Weapons, illegal drugs, or products and services that require a licence you do not hold.
- Hate speech, harassment, threats or content that promotes violence.
- Fraud, scams, phishing, pyramid or get-rich-quick schemes.
- Fake reviews, fake testimonials or misleading claims about your products, prices or qualifications.
- Pretending to be another person, business or authority, or images made or edited to look real that mislead people about real people or events.
- Malware, spam, or anything that harms our systems, other customers or visitors.
- Collecting special category data (such as health or financial data) through your website without telling us first.
Reporting content
Anyone can report content on a website hosted by altoda that they believe is illegal or breaks this policy, using our reporting page at altoda.co/report or by email to [email protected]. To help us act quickly, please include:
- why you believe the content is illegal or breaks this policy;
- the exact web address (URL) of the content;
- your name and email address, unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete.
We confirm that we received your report, review it carefully and objectively, and tell you what we decided. A person reviews every report; we use automated tools only to detect malware, spam and security threats. If we learn of content that suggests a threat to someone's life or safety, we inform the relevant authorities.
What we do
If we find content that breaks this policy, we may ask you to change it, remove it, restrict it or suspend your website. Where possible we will contact you first and give you time to fix it. If the content is clearly illegal or causes serious harm, we may act immediately.
When we act, we tell the website owner what we did and why, which rule or law it relates to, and how to challenge the decision. You can challenge a decision by replying to our notice or emailing [email protected]. A person who was not involved in the first decision reviews it, and we tell you the outcome. If you remain unhappy, you may use an out-of-court dispute settlement body or go to court.
We may suspend accounts that repeatedly publish clearly illegal content, and we may stop processing reports from people who repeatedly send clearly unfounded ones, after warning them.
